Eternity

Eternity

A Poem by idiotproof--1

You are an eternity away from me.
Dancing just out of reach.
I see you day and night
you are in my dreams and when I wake I grasp for your warmth.
I will always find you, always see you
but never will we meet.
There is too much time and space between us.
Yet I have seen you
looking for me.
You don't know that who you are looking for
is already dead;
At least I am where you are.
your world can only live if I am gone,
can only thrive if I have died.
So I watched to see if I could find anything worth dying for
and I found you.
I saw your smile, watched you dance,
heard you laugh, and felt your tears.
I saw your pain.
I wished that I could help
but with all the power in the world I couldn't be there
for the one I would trade the world for.
 instead I would destroy myself
so that you could live
and I will wait eternities
so that one day, if only for a fleeting second,
I can wipe the tears from your face.

Memories are hard to forget.
"so that one day, if only for a fleeting second,
I can wipe the tears from your face."
We can try but good places once. Tattoos on the mind and the heart. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Wow dude, No greater love than to give your life for another. I left that out of my first review. It's my favorite part! I'm loving this. Your a kindred spirit for sure and I love your words. A fantasy but more real than not. Truth in love, where it can go. How high it can fly. How long it must wait. I love this bro. I really, really do. Thanks for sharing
