I'm Just a Girl

I'm Just a Girl

A Poem by emma

I’m no beauty queen, I’m no model.

I’m no princess, I’m no star.

I’m not famous, I’m not known.

I’m not perfect, I’m not flawless.

I’m just a girl.

I want to be kissed, I want to be loved.

I want to be cherished, I want to be held.

I want to hold someone’s hand,

And I want someone who wants to hold mine.

I have dreams, I have ambitions.

I have a smile, I have a laugh.

I have a heart, and it has stitches.

I have friends, I have crushes.

I have school, I have pressure.

I have things to strive for

And I have people to impress.

I know I’m not too special,

I know I’m not the greatest catch.

I know all that.

I really know it all.

But I want to be perfect and flawless,

I want to be really special.

I want to be loved and never broken,

And I want all my dreams to come true.

But I’m just a girl.

i was in a very, shall we say, unhappy mood. wrote this in the middle of it. i think the flow is a bit awkward, so any suggestions to make it better is appreciated. i kinda just wrote and didn't think.

This is perfect !

Can`t think of anything nicer than

The writer just being a girl.

I love this poem :)
You say the flow is awkward, but I think as long as you've got the message across and you think it sounds alright when you read it in your head, its fine.

this can be spoken for many women. i feel the same way. although there is melancholy that comes through, it is beautifully written. we all need some assurance and positive reinforcement. nice piece.

This couldn't have been written better....I truly enjoyed it, and I truly agree. We can't all be perfect, in fact, I don't think anyone can be absolutely perfect. There's always one thing we've done wrong that will weigh down on us, and it's simply because we're human. We all make mistakes. We're not perfect. But we're people, and we have feelings too. A great read :)

We can't change, we're not going to, though we may want to. I couldn't have said this better myself, or have read it better. Great write

Not bad. It was quite the enjoyable read. And yes, you are just a girl, the same as a little more than half of the earth's population. Eh well, what can you do?

Yeah that's something that I feel, I'm just a girl but I do have some things that I'd like...

I really liked the meaning of this. Although I think it is our imperfections and flaws that make us special and differ from the rest.
I enjoyed it, a great poem!
