I want to know how I can not only expand, but also improve these lyrics at the same time(literally at the same time, both qualities overlap).

A good rule of thumb is: if you've ever heard something before, don't use it.
At least not by itself.

It's difficult to tell without knowing what the music is, but mainly explaining (by allusion and metapors and all that good stuff of course) what you mean by things like "forever one" would be a start. Also adding a chorus whose concepts can be expanded on in the verses or interpreted in multiple ways during the passage of the song.

I generally prefer writing lyrics for ballads as it allows for more poetic and interesting wording.
