Woods show your beauty

Woods show your beauty

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

A favorite place of mine where I find peace and solitude and sense of strength within a natural wooded beauty.

"

The woods shared her beauty today.
Each variant tree festooned in leafy garb.
The woods shared her grace today,
native creatures buzzing all round.

In strength the grove stands,
attending to language only its own.
Is there a clue of what life should be
 for you, for me?

Amidst tempest,
this  grove refuses to flee its station
but  yields
giving itself in the power of each gust.

Can we learn
 to bend amidst life storms,
open to lessons within our days?

Enclosing peaceful  solitude
Is the presence of  my Lord.
 at life's end
Heaven will be my perfect reward.

Phew! It brought peace in me.... :)
This reminds me of my village which I've hardly visited it past few years....that serene place always used to soothe my soul...now in this crowd I barely can think of goin' there again....
I loved reading the beauty of woods here....just simply captivating :)
Thanks for sharing :)

I love this poem becuz it doesn't sound like anything else I've read about woods & especially with all the autumn poems abounding. I love the gracefully-stated insinuation that the woods are a place to go when life is harsh & we need some space & peace for meditation, perhaps. I read-requested a friend (InjectPositivity) becuz he just lost his mom & he always goes into the forest for healing.

I love the woods. There is always a feeling of peace when I walk through them. The words you chose are good. Few words to maximize the feeling of peace. I won't repeat all the lines that touched me because I would rewrite the entire poem! I really like it. This is very beautiful. I will also say that I love how you've given the trees a persona, because I often feel like I'm in someone's lovely house when I'm in the woods, and the trees, well I try to understand their language and what they might share with me that day.

So tranquil and divine, the flowing of words like deep woods and rivers emerging to bring their peace. May it always fill you on your journey, and lead you home where heaven is said to have fruit trees that are in everlasting bloom.

You expressed the virtues of letting oneself be carried away in the present moment, the virtues of seeking and embracing the lessons and the beauties that life offers and that forests encourage us to discover, with words that bore your great passion. I liked it.

We should all have such a peaceful place to escape to and remember how to truly breathe. I love the fact that you start with sharing beauty, of seeing and being within it, surrounded by it and the thoughts it brings to your mind/pen. Beautifully written.

How very beautiful Kathy...Peace and serenity are what the woods & nature represent to me. As I read each line of your poem it seemed as though I was there in the midst of the trees. Seeing, smelling and hearing all the beauty of God's creation.
I loved the line, Can we learn to bend amidst life storms, open
to lessons within our days? Food for thought. Still pondering. lol..
Loved your last line. Beautifully written. When I think about being in the presence of The Lord I think about peaceful solitude. In my opinion, it is only in the midst of His creations that one can seek peace and truly find it this side of heaven.
Beautiful. Very well written. Thanks for sharing.

God Bless,
Becky
