A bully's poem

A bully's poem

A Poem by Katarzyna Slade

My cruel, vindictive tongue will scorn you,
You'll believe every word I say to be true.
I will push you around in the playground,
Kick dirt in your face whilst you are down.
But I am just jealous, you'r parents were around.

I will taunt, mock, you will be the joke,
I wont quit, today it's you I will provoke.
I'm not a nice person it's clear to see,
My parents left me when I was a baby.
So I take it out on you, you were wanted unlike me.

Fear makes me friends and gets me noticed,
And even though I will probably never confess
My actions towards you are not in malice.
See I used to be you, I was bullied once too,
I hate to be me, spiteful, nasty and callous.

But I will not show weakness, I'll pretend that I'm strong,
Secretly I'm sorry, I know what I do is wrong.
This is how I know to protect and defend.
You will never know of how I wish to be your friend.
Maybe one day in the future you'll let me amend.
And you will know the truth, my game of pretend.

I really love this poem , it gives us a view from the other side of the situation, that they can be victims of their mind's bully as well.

You definitely hit the heart of a bully... in reality they are nothing but insecure people who use fear to make themselves feel better... outstanding piece.

True words that make you pause before going around and hating somebody because they lash out and tend to only show hate therefor making them "unlikable" to all. Brings to mind what my mother would tell me when something like this would happen, she'd always say to always be kind no matter what because you never know what's going on with the other person.

Sadly few take the time to realize the state of mind of the bully only their actions. People react, more often then thoughtful response. Of course someone capable of doing such hurtful malicious things to others is in a horrible horrible place. THey are unhappy with themselves so they lash out. Most of this time this comes from their environment at home. I have written a similar poem on this topic. I address this exact issue, but it is still for the bullied. The poem Is called "You are not what they speak of you" I ask that you read it. It is a true story as I witnessed a kid bullied at an In-n-out burger on prom night. I chose to do something. By my actions and by writing the poem I was extended the honor to be in a documentary not yet released called "Bullied to Silence" You can view the trailer on youtube, or go to bulliedtosilence.com

Thank you for the insightful powerful write.

This is amazing! I like how you have showed it from the bully's point of you because not many people understand why they do what they do (not that it makes it ok). Really powerful use of language and the flow is great. Nice write!

Most angry people are hiding something. I do like the logic of this poem. Most bully want attention. Only way is to create problems and abuse. Told a strong and real story in the poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.
