Old Friend of Mine

Old Friend of Mine

A Poem by Mickey

You turn to me a fake smile on your face,
it doesn't seem right, its out of place.
I knew you once, long ago,
we met in the playground, we used to be foes.
Then we made up and became best friends again,
we were together for years, best friends till the end.
Now I stare at you and I realized you changed.
You hardly go to school, 'but its because you're sick' you say.
But I see the lies, the cheating, the failing grades,
its all behind that big hard maze.
It took me awhile to let go of you,
after all we've been through.
But when I saw what you've become,
I knew it was time,
goodbye, old friend of mine.
