Long lost...

Long lost...

A Poem by kianatahleigh

Sometimes it is not knowing someone that matters.
It is having known them and the realization that somewhere in the world they are still out there existing.
This is the comfort that the heart gets and uses as fuel for contentment,
when the realization occurs that sometimes people are only around for a season.
The memories are what the heart uses to latch onto in order to keep itself beating.
That way the mind does not concentrate so hard on staying alive
and can focus on being...what is the word,
Happy.
Happy that it connected with a mind similar to itself,
and for just a few moments another heart was drawn so close to another;
they beat as one.
And that two souls became so intertwined with one another as if
they already knew they belonged,
But
when one of these beings has to leave, it is the memories that stay and bring contentment.
Although it is the minds job to choose sadness or happiness,
the hearts job is to develop those feelings,
and cause the soul to search for a way through the sadness,
or be guidance on the exploration of a new type of joy.

you`re welcome
A deeply moving piece here, with an excellent philosophy. Everything in this world is time sensitive, including relationships, even long lasting ones. If the time together fosters positive memories, let that be the focus of any recall. To dwell upon pain is to birth bitterness. Well done.
