The love of Aphrodite

The love of Aphrodite

A Poem by Marc Marlon Villaflor
"

A woman has always weakness even her name is Aphrodite.

"

Wind, wind blows touching my skin.

Rain, rain drops, I am standing here against the rain.

The thunder strikes, my heart beats electrified.

This time of my life, I don’t want to hide.

Can you hear me? My voice slows down like it flows in the thin air.

I am here suffering in the dark, still in the realm of fear.

I am waiting for you to come and save me

I am longing for your love please hear my plea

The light would be a dream I am waiting for

Please come and hold my body, take me more.

Kiss; kiss me as we forget the time of sin

In this life we are all living in the stratum of pain.

As long as I hold you now, I will not be afraid.

As long as you are here, my heart will not bleed.

Please stay with me, stay even it is an indulgence.

Cover me with your soul, touch my body without a blench.

I will go out now from the dark, I will go with you.

The moment has come this love is true

I will turn my back on the life I had before

All I have now, I am happy, I can’t ask for more.

I enjoyed this journey of finding ones self through finding love
it seems that the words should at first look for what they want to love
I almost feel like anyone could have pulled out of the dark but no you were waiting in the dark going over a true love checklist...life before again but now with love
cover me with your soul-I just like that image so much it is lovely
thank you for sharing

very nicely penned. i loved the mind provoking you have expressed here. it is the best and the sweetest kind of love when love is away from need and desire.

The thing I find most interesting about this poem is it is a good read whether I start at the top and read down or start at the bottom and read up. Very cool.

Thanks Mr. Jack I appreciate your review big time :)
The search for love...something we can all relate to I think. I like the Aphrodite image; one of my favorite goddess'. A few little grammatical and wording stumbling points, but overall, I found this to be very enjoyable. Nicely done.

Thanks Girl Friday, I appreciate your review :)
Enjoyed this, has a classical strength, strong couplet form and a impressive dramatic style, reminded me of a Greek tragedy in its style and force, good one. So you got the style, as the title implies, exactly right, well done.

Thanks Leslie love the way how you review my work with those words, I appreciate it big time :)
Marc this has a very romantic feel to it despite your explanation. It again is rooted in mythology and reads very well.

I love couplets. You are so great in this piece. I don't have a favorite line, but I really love all those. I'll try to make one like this. Thank you for sharing. I admire your style.
