Eden

I wonder what it looked like

That beautiful garden they’ve told us about

With four bubbling, gushing rivers

And trees all around that were

Quote

Pleasing to the eyes

I wonder if the grass was a cool as the evening breeze,

As soft as a silk blanket

I wonder if the flowers

Were the deepest shade of violet

The brightest of reds,

The purest of pinks

Or if they were a color we have yet to see on this earth

Oh that beautiful garden

With birds chirping just around the bend

Whistling a sweet melody

Just for you to dance to

And the animals

Now thought of as beasts

Would sit purring at your bare feet

Oh the peace

The love and purity and hope and peace

In that beautiful garden that,

On this earth

In this life,

We have yet to see.

Wow.. I'm in awe. I guess I haven't thought about that much. Back when the world was sinless and pure. In a world that's falling and getting worse day by day it's good to stop and think about this. 90 views I see on this poem, I only wish there were more. Your imagery was beautiful:) Great poem!

Oh wow Mickey! You reminded me of something my Daddy once told me about Eden. He told me that in Heaven there were colors and wonders that we were incapable of recreating on earth. This was very well done ^_^

you can place me in eden by awakening my imagination. the eden before the fall must have truly been paradise with peace between adam and eve and the animals. i guess we'll never see that kind of paradise in this lifetime. excellent poem.
