inspired by Micheal Bolton's "How can we be lovers?" (I know no one likes him so don't judge me XD )

How can we be lovers when we can't even stand each other?

All we do is scream and yell at each other 

We almost know nothing about one another 

It's only when we are drunk do we ever care 

I said I loved you but I must have lied 

I was wrong because it was a drunken truth 

We only know how to get drunk, 

And how to sleep together 

How can we be lovers?

How can we be more than a drunken fling?

If that is all we are good at being,

Is there any hope for us?

I said I love you but maybe I didn't have to lie 

Maybe it wasn't a drunken truth

Maybe I do want more 

Maybe I want us to be lovers 

You make me feel so good inside 

You make me feel wanted 

You make me feel needed 

Even if it's the beer talking

I want us to be a sober love 

No more screaming 

No more yelling 

No more meaningless sex 

I want us to be real lovers 

Question is...... How can we be lovers if we can't even stand each other?
