If Only To Melt~

If Only To Melt~

A Poem by poet2angels (lynda)
"

inspired by the quote: "Poetry Begins With A lump In the Throat" by Robert Frost

"

In bashful eyes
peeking through the keyhole
until voices were silenced,

poetry was born in my heart.

It was my fairytale
when life was too real-
writing rhymes, reflecting

a prettier picture of love.

Fingers intertwined
with incessant faith,
I found poetry in psalms

and we three formed a circle.

Through the years,

I painted my tears on life's canvas,
in splatters of liquid longing,
sharing in empathetic sentiment

fragments of my heart.

In my book of memoirs

there are no diamond clustered cameos
nor black tie events
held in my honor,

My poetry will not be studied
in literary books
or carved in tombstones

[between parenthesis.]

I will always be that dreamer

  d
      a
        n
        c
      i
    n
      g

          in my field of flowers

picking daisies, plucking petals

        "he loves me,
            he loves me not"

just a simple poet
that fluttered through life
whispering syllables of love

if only to melt
a heart along the way.

gorgeous, absolutely loved it...

i mean it's such an apt description of all of us who pen poetry or write - i mean chances are most of us arn't going to get famous writing, like J.k rowling etc, but we still do it anyway..we still write and dream of ideas to pen down into words, if only to move or touch someone who will read it somewhere along the way...

LOVED IT.

Absolutely beautifully written poem, comes to life inside the mind and heart, flows with eternal detail
and rhythm, I really enjoyed the pace, flow and design. It's a gem.

Beautiful. And we three formed a circle... I love that line.
Your descriptive words and poetic layout are filled with delightful sentiment and care;
poised perfectly in your gentle verse. Excellent - as always. ~Pamela

You are on my black tie list and that is all that matters!

I shutter to think what their "studied"
and warped interpretations would do to our works

and finally, the most beautiful flower in this beautiful tribute to self is:

"It was my fairytale
when life was too real-
writing rhymes, reflecting"

I was not a big writer in my childhood
but I ran away to the tops of trees
and the dark corners of closets -
places no one would look to read for hours.

Always a pleasure...

This is really great! It's so perfect.
In the middle, it's get pretty 'lump-in-the-throat'-ish..."there are no diamond clustered cameos, nor black tie events held in my honor..."
then you turn it around, and say that even though you won't be one of the poets that makes it into the all time-greats list, you're fine with that.
But then again, maybe you will be.

Beautiful in every way; the flow and format; the poetic device and delicate phrases. Each stanza embraces the next with grace. Simple poet you are NOT!

Flawless... You capture moments and memories so perfectly, accept the world and defy it at the same time through your strength to endure. And you will touch many with your beautiful words. I know you will.

This is stunning, I loved it, very subtle and the nature worked in favor of
powerful simplicity, as well as masterful design, sentimental and beautiful.
