THE WINDOW

THE WINDOW

A Poem by Prateeksha Khot
"

This is a Senryu. This Japanese form of poem has 5-7-5 syllables format but it is different from a Haiku in the sense that it is related to Human nature

"

Windows of your heart,
Keep open, let in Love; there's
enough room for him.

Windows of your mind,
Don't close, Mr. Knowledge's to come-
Shouldn't you greet him?

Windows of conscience,
Welcome Truth,Justice; mentors
to you when in doubt.

Windows of senses,
Open wide to Famous Five :
Sight, Touch, Sound, Taste, Smell.

Windows of your soul,
Open to Enlightenment;
Your guide let him be.

Author's Note

Prateeksha Khot
This is collection of Senryu for THE WINDOW (POETRY WRITING CONTEST). I think I am not wrong in saying these are Senryu as they basically deal with human nature and human emotion.

This is a beautiful piece! I really like the word choice and the structure. This poem is simple yet powerful, which means the message goes a long way!
I love the message too. Nice work! Really nice work...

A amazing poem. With the set-up of the poem each set of lines making the poem stronger. I like the complete poem. Your logic is similar to my view on living. A perfect ending to a outstanding poem.
