Commit.

A Poem by Eirinn

Commit.

You

Inspire me.

    Why?

           How?

Nevernever will I know.

But I can pretend, still.

Pretend to know the reasons,
The ways in which you move and speak
and breath.

I can pretend to form words like you
Pretend I know the answers to all life’s
Quizzes and quandaries

And pretend I am the handyman
Whom you need to mend the broken hearts,
The broken bones, the failing images
that fade as you fade into supposed
mental

darkness.

I will be light if you choose to be dark.

I will be dark if you asphyxiate brightness.

I will say what must be said, and only what must,
Never what shouldn’t be.

I will bite my

    F*****G

Tongue

Because words create complexity.

And I, being of intricate mind and quaking state
Want nothing but simplicity.

Furthermore. Here-on-out.

Breath.

         Movement.

                 Hands.

                        in-hale.

       ex-hale.

Touch. Location. Asphyxiation. Elegance.

I choose to be whoever the f**k

     I

choose to be

You do the same for you, babe.

be what you are,

but if you do,

Make sure you do it right.

Commit.

         Commit to your character, fool.

        COMMIT.

Even if you can’t commit to me.
