Extraordinary Rendition

Extraordinary Rendition

A Poem by Rachael
"

For school- took another poem and copied the format, changing it into our own words.

"
I gave you back the pieces I once held
and the routine we once knew,
the hours expelled
on arguments only blue

to you and I, the useless waste
that hid from one and all
when we walked around with such haste
behind the"law."

I gave you back the whole,
the memories, the stitched timeline
from which we sewed

in the fear of holes, I'd assume,
that came alive
the last time we spoke from our own voices.

I love the 3rd verse wherein you used the words "stitched" and "sewed' for the pieces of memories you made as a whole.
Nice wordplay.
