Churning

Churning

There’s a color in the rainbow

that I cannot quite recall

it’s colors drawn from everything

yet with no color at all

 Cumulus clouds softly gather

just like cotton candy dreams

hovering in uncertainty

perhaps life's not what it seems

It's reminding me of something

is it something I forgot

I cannot get a sense of it

was it something I had sought?

Within the windmills of the mind

lie the circles of a storm

is this something quite the norm?

Like a world winds of emotions

and sandcastles washed away

then once upon a time was new

was it forever yesterday?

 Kaleidoscope within my brain

mirrored imaged every side

bursting into vibrant colors

of the things I've tried to hide

forgotten  fragments blown away

silent sounds on muted breeze

yet in my head a tempo pounds

and it brings me to my knees

like wind chimed echo's haunting me

in minds hollow how they dwell

they are my thoughts of yesterday

I thought I knew them well

Tunnel vision spectrums

in blinded light no longer seize

deafening, these silent sounds

a polaroid frame freeze

Still they're churning in my brain

thoughts continually stir

my life's become a mystery

filled with memories that blur

Gorgeous poem Rose. I adore that amazing imagery and metaphors that you wove into this. Loved the Polaroid freeze frame! My favourite is the 8th verse about the wind chimes!
Stunning writing as always!

No don't stop now and yes it works a treat!!
Wow...beautifully-written, it flows like...well you know, I muted the sound and still heard breezes!
so, as light as air with stormy words raining down brilliance! Another of your masterpieces, what else can I say? Oh I know: "Cha-ching!" LOL!

Thanks for sharing

Ha! Childhood damage...loose wires'n all. ;-)
But I appreciate the kind words.
I feel that beauty that is masking something darker that we know is there because we sense it. We have the same last name maybe we are related?

Thank you for dropping by Rita.. xo
The images you painted were multicolored even though the print inspiring the words was in sepia tones. I was drawn into the image because of the windmill. Thoughts of yesterday can blur at times. Are we really remembering things as they happened or do we embellish as time goes by? You can't hide from yourself, can you? That song is a poignant beauty. Loved the entire package, Rose. Lydi**

You've written many phrases here that produce great imagery. My favorite is "forgotten fragments blow away with silent sounds on muted breeze." Beautiful writing..

I can relate to this last verse:
Still they're churning in my brain
thoughts continually stir
my life's become a mystery
filled with memories that blur.

That pretty much says it all. enjoyed this poem. Trace
