who are you?

who are you?

A Poem by marie

who are you?
who watches me
i haven't a clue
why can't i see
we used to be
the best of friends
we were always free
we met no ends
it wasn't long ago you said
that we could be no more
who are you, you changed you head
and left my high hopes on the floor
who is this person i used to know
that used to be so bold
cut at the roots a flower cant grow
preserved not even by the cold
who are you that doesn't see
all that you destroyed
not my friend could you be
all you do is look annoyed
i watch you and think
of all tour joyful cries
now all those memories stink
for they were only lies

It's sad that we all know people like this, people who change into something . . . deeper, darker than who they used to be. I've seen it too many times . . . worst of all, I've seen a lot of it in myself. Too much of it. "Who are you?" I often ask myself that in the mirror . . . this is a wonderful poem. Thank you for sharing it. :)
