His Eyes Glowed Orange

His Eyes Glowed Orange

A Poem by streetrose

His eyes glowed orange on that warm springtime eve

Hotter than hell, the day had been

His voice had boomed as always, but to no avail this time

He was finally alone, but not truly alone

His demons were still happy to guide him

The orange glow, it frightened us all

Turning our love into fear and our sympathy into contempt

That noise and light was too much this time

The color too vibrant, the emotion too vivid

Too many white lies floated in the air around us all

In the stillness, we were all frightened

Imploring silently for noise and commotion to break our thoughts

Instead, the quiet continued

In the room and in our depraved little minds

I loved the glow, and that frightened me

Still glowing orange are his eyes, I’m sure

So vibrantly, so angrily, so vehemently

Slamming of doors and under the breath murmurs

Silent apologies falling upon many pairs of deaf ears

Still glowing are his eyes, and still pining is my heart

I like how you captured the colour orange. 10/10 level of colour theory.
