Masquerade

Masquerade

A Poem by streetrose

You think you already know me
But you haven't the slightest clue
I'm a wild ray of sunshine
In the guise of a common shrew

I'm that leering little echo
In the stillness of the night
I'm the devilish voice inside your head
Who'd rather stay and fight

I'm a black sheep of society
The thorn upon a rose
Protector of the innocent
And architect of prose

You think you already know me
But you haven't the slightest clue
How my clever masquerade
Is still deceiving you

I really like this piece.
Black sheep- but a wild ray of sunlight.
So interesting- it makes the reader want to know you.
Well done.
