As Angels Watch

As Angels Watch

A Poem by Archangel Gabriel

As Angels Watch

He stands upon the plains of heaven,

his mighty torso filled with grief

as he sees the Devil’s doing

played out

across the slaughtered world beneath.

He knows such evil provides a gauge

against which to measure faith,

but still such needless suffering

leaves him

filled with such a powerful rage.

He vows that he will fight forever

to defend man’s heart from Satan’s charm

and dedicates his sword in worship

to save

earth bound souls from such hell-sent harm.

Amen. I love the concept of a sword of worship. I guess it appeals to my Viking DNA.

You are a poet with stylistic continuity, and I like poets who retain their voice..

Is it 'good' to get angry at evil? A well penned verse as always. :)

Thank you Mark. See you on my main page soon!
Good to read you again Gabriel, we need more defenders of the dark such as yourself. You're a superhero in my book! Nicely pen'd.

Just don't fall upon my un-scabbard sword: I hate the sight of blood!
