Hurt

Hurt

A Poem by Shannon Miller

He doesn't see her
But she sees him all too clearly
While she barely exists to him
She watches him exist
She sees a light he tries to hide
A sad kind of light
He doesn't think they can see
But she sees
And knows he would never
Ask for her help
She would hold him
Tell him it's alright
Keep his light safe
But she knows he'll never ask
Alone she watches
And alone he hurts
But she also knows
It could never happen anyway

From the guy's perspective, it makes me wonder what I might have missed in the past.
