Spiritual Awaken

I look, I see

Even when the clouds spread gray

Vision of the sky enter me

I pray

Realizing what I feel

Is all around me

Out in the open, sometimes hidden

Yet I know you’re there

I’ve been lifted to believe

That I can climb those mountains

And pass the clouds

For on that day

I will say, my lord

Now

 I can truly see.

When I pray I know to whom but I have this habit of looking towards the sky so I wrote this, remember poetry is always open to interpretation so I leave it to the reader.

i pray all the time, it is as natural to me as breathing. So, i loved this. I too "have been lifted to believe that i can climb those mountains."

Very inspiring, profound and moving. The poem arrangement is crafty and the word choice is appropriate (" grey clouds, mountains") to convey the mood for prayer, which is naturally petitions headed upward to heights. I like the transition you made from sky to the things around you still in union with the concept of "prayer" and the final realization "I've been lifted to believe that I can climb those mountains and pass the clouds,". The last lines declaring that after you've reached the mountain, you can see God.

I often pray the same way, and usually at night while I'm staring at the stars. Sometimes the darkness feels more comforting knowing there is light above me. This in turns reminds me of the light of spirit prayer gives me. The light of God. A very uplifting write. Well penned.
