Restlessness

Restlessness

A Poem by Pax

Restlessness makes my nights sleepless

Overloaded thoughts make my lights stranded

My mirrored reflection affects my emotion

Finding the old me, now lost in the sea, never ending

Waves that never cease my ease, bewildering

Kisses pushes me to the dark,, hugs causes me to bark

Stars from far above filled this emptied love

Voices Rant, faceless haunt, memories taunt

Goodbyes are beginning, the ends are starting

Author's Note

Pax
~ Fragments of my soul are scattered in my verses
* I flunk!
* Poetry is therapy
* Questionable Mentality
* Restlessness

Sometimes I thought that it's just word-play but then there is always truth hides in little fragments of what i felt when i wrote it. There is always this feel that i have release something in every write i wrote, I guess that's just how i write...

Enjoy the read my friends ~
I'll be around soon ~

This piece reminds me of many nights I lay here in bed and scattered thoughts, emotions, fears, doubts, questions, self-reflection, desires, needs for love and affection, and "voices" plague my psyche and cause my soul to be restless and unable to sleep. It is like waves crashing in and nothing to hold on to-restlessly tossed about, trying to grasp that sense of peace that will lull me to sleep and soothe my soul. Nicely done, I enjoyed.

Unable to relax, the prospect of goodbyes followed by new beginnings invades rest... Some deep thought here - well penned!

Like the mix of couplets and the middle tercet, a poem written with care, nice job

I'm glad you could be the one to write about such a topic Pax, because you describe every detail so carefully and vividly. I think this write of yours tells a story about how all of us feel on the inside sometimes, and how we all can relate and we all go through similar obstacles in life. Rock on.

Somebody I am friends with said I should read you but I don't recall who so I can't tell you who to think for the referral. However I need to thank them too because this is good work. The ending reminds me of T.S. Eliot (in the end is my beginning) I like the format and flow and play upon words. Nice solid imagery also. I am not gonna pick out and particular lines because basically the whole thing is very solid. Nice work Pax.

When the mind fills with darkness tis hard to relax, to want to sleep, afraid of what dreams might bring. Worries and fears seem to lay in wait for the moment you put head to pillow, the barking at the moon, the shrugging of shoulders too tired to loosen - and the being becomes a frightened child needing the comfort hiding away like the absent muse. You write with a sharp pencil here and there, almost angry, certainly needing the calm that lets you explain , ' .. never ending Waves that never cease my ease, bewildering '
