Three Scenes

Three Scenes

A Poem by wtcarkeek09

A Red Scene

You wrapped your lips around mine, and heaved in deep,
Air from my lungs as I felt you creep.
Under my feet and carry me away,
Beyond the shore, and into the bay.
Petrified and stoned, my pulse on pause,
I almost couldn't feel the cut from your claws.
A swift slice beneath my breast, and plunged wrist deep:
Where my heart had rest, my eyes, they peaked.
Your hair was down, a wave of Autumn leaves,
Determination in your eyes, a rush as your grip squeezed.
Twist and a jerk, my body released,
Blood drained through your fingers as my life begun to seize.
Mixing into the salt and framing the scene,
My blood glistened from your eyes and I begun to dream.
I saw us, I felt us, walking hand in hand,
I felt the first day of our wedding bands.
Late nights, summer, winter, and the future,
I saved all as gifts that life let us nurture.
Just before it all faded away,
I felt the words of the last kiss you made.
You released my body limp into the sea and trailed toward the land,
My heart drained of life, yet the love remained in your hand.

Black Scene

I woke to breath,
But I woke up to the sea,
Black capped eyes,
Was my monster to be.
Charred from emotion,
And it's salty erosion,
Smoggy clear lens.
Reflecting the ocean.
Hands of a beast,
Brittle in the crease,
Cracked poisoned nails,
Seeped sinful disease.
Rotten slimy flesh,
Transformed on my chest,
coarse scales surround.
The hollow in my breast,
No flaw in the design,
Not an imperfect line,
Seized was my heart.
In a lovers crime.
Set forth to wonder,
In the shallows of yonder,
Rage for the one,
Who has forged this monster.

End Scene

The wind twisted and twiddled,
It gently brushed on her cheek,
As the sun settled and dwindled,
The warmth soothed her feet.
The sand kneaded as she walked,
A shadow volleyed from her heals,
Her shawl draped as it fought,
A gust that sealed her trail.
Her step upon lumber,
A drift at the bay,
She slipped into the hunger,
Of an atrocious monster prey.
Regaining little composure,
Seaweed sucking on her skin,
A step toward the familiar,
Was an all too familiar sin.
Tattered with drapes,
A scar beating through sight,
His eyes, dark round shapes,
Coaxing toward the night.
To flee was a reaction,
Gritty grip upon her wrist,
Spun back to meet the last man,
Who's heart that had filled her fist.
Black eyes masked,
Closed as he lightly clinched,
Poison injecting past,
A palpating heart's last flinch.
Scales chipping one by one,
His heart left her chest,
Released in the Setting sun,
And now set forth to rest.
