Anxiety

Anxiety

A Poem by wtcarkeek09

The mind consumes its worries,
Pity pulses the beat,
Shadows form fog and surround,
I live life down, against my feats.

I have passion,
There is strength and worth,
Stifled in my sternum, churning,
No direction to birth.

I’ll go numb,
Drop emotions wastefully,
Hunker down in isolation,
Anxious with my “about to be”.

Temples on a shiver,
My jaw milling out dust,
Words waving in scenarios,
I’m sweating out the trust.

Sipping on breath,
Muscles tied in knots and taut,
I’m looking for the ledge,
I want this fight to be fought.
