About Me

My name is Deborah Jean Tunnicliff, but you can call me Debbie.

I love to write. Mainly poetry, but short stories and essays when I happen to have the time. My second poetry book "Blood Of The Butterfly" will be published some time soon. I plan on publishing more in the near future, and eventually writing my autobiography.

If you happen to stumble upon my poetry, I ask that you give me some constructive criticism. Any feedback that you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Most of my writing is rhyme, although once in a while you will catch me doing free verse and prose. My taste in poetry varies, but I'm a fan of many forms.

Wherever I go, my camera goes with me. I absolutely love photography. It's my passion, it's my life. I work with a Nikon D90, which I keep equipped with an 18-200mm lens.

I live and breathe music. If I could, I wouldn't go a single minute without listening to something.

I love my son, above all things. He is my little piece of heaven, and I call him that because basically-if you've seen his eyes, caught a glimpse of his smile, heard his laughter, felt his spirit...heaven is the only way to describe it.

Writing poetry has been very therapeutic for me. I use it to not only express the pain I've had to suffer, but to hopefully heal a bit in the process.
I've been a victim for most of my life, dealt with many forms of abuse which started at a very young age, and now feel the need to share my experiences with others.

With that said, I hope you enjoy my work, as I'm sure I'll enjoy yours.

" We are each a living manifestation of divinity. To know ourself is to know god. So next time you pray for something do it with the knowledge that the answers lie within.
Walk a path of the elders for ancient knowledge is within our soul. We have the history of humankind within us and if we embrace this truth ours will be a world of love , light and laughter where diversity is our constant companion and peace our lifelong friend."
