About Me

I began writing poems and narrative poems as a hobby about 1970. I like writing in rhyme but have others.
I published some poems and won some awards in the 1980's, mostly in quarterlies across the US.
More recently, I have published several poems and short stories in a by-yearly, Ronin Express, a literary Journal, Vol. #7 & #10. Also a Sci-Fi titled Sketch-Bot, also Ronin Publications.

Dear Readers,

With a heavy heart, his family is writing to share that Dick Thurmond passed away peacefully last week. We will miss him, but know that he is in a good place. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness towards others.

Lovingly, His Family

I retired at 66 and resumed writing regularly, as a hobby and to keep the brain in good working order. One of my poems became a song of faith, a second was sold and became a children's prayer. Several poems, and some short stories, were published over the years. Via snail mail. --- Now days it's easier, and I am flattered that I receive several hundred reads a day on various sights; the following is humbling.

My work history in a nutshell. --- I did Factories, I started as a mold operator at 18 in a tiny company in Compton, California. And by the time I was happy with what I was doing, I was a Tool and Die Maker, Journeyman; did that for 20 years. --- For my final 10 years, I was a QC Inspector in charge of the Inspection dept., and the Magnetic Particle Inspection operations, for an Oil Well Tool Company.
