About Me

'Cognito ergo sum' the easiest way to describe oneself in a second. And I am madly in love with the love of my life; my daughter my life and what i have become along the way. I'm truly happy with life, just not with the world. I write when i need to never just for the sake of it, that never serves a purpose if it lies at the demand of another. Well, it then no longer makes me happy. Writing should be a passion, a thought, a heartache, a feeling or hunger, or pain. It should evoke and inspire, speak to the masses and say something. Be it less than a whisper or so much more. Whatever you make it should always be of change. A need to progress.

i love the almost classical imagery used in this poem to illustrate how a classic love re-paints our lives. However, this is much covered ground and this [articular feels slightly generic in language use and rhythm. An all time, all consuming love is yours and yours alone, and the writing should reflect the personal elation, feeling, pain, 'ecstasy'. I think this poet could easily progress her writing and communicate her intricacies with some work.

Touched by an Angel

by Maya Angelou

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
