Under 1,000 words. Story. Any genre, but it's gotta be short. "Flash fiction" isn't known for it's well rounded characters, lush, stringy imagery or plot development; it's known for making a statement, or packing a punch, in as few words as possible. The shorter the story, the stronger the message, the more effective and memorable it will be. Keep that in mind. Any genre flash fiction >1,000 words. Have fun!!
