Soul of Light CH5

Eva Genessi and her studygroup still with the thought of Shadakai printed into their minds, are on a field trip, organized by Mr Gettica. Hopefully something or someone won't interrupt again.

Chapter 5:
The birds were singing and the sun was coming up between the mountaintops, everyone was up already.
The Mythra twins were reading in their book about Barrier Magic, Drake was doing his hair and Terral was sitting on a rock, looking down into the forest. Eva wasn't awake yet, she was the only one still sleeping, Mr Gettica went to her tent eventually. "Eva? Are you awake yet? It's sunrise and we are going to move on."
"Mmhm...Just some more minutes please." Said Eva from within the tent with a soft sleepy voice.
"Eva you have to get up now, come on." Mr Gettica opened the zipper of her tent as the daylight shone on her face. "Alright Alright, ugh..." Eva rubbed her eyes and crawled out of the tent, she stood up yawning.
"I have never slept so bad in my whole life and that's one big achievement." Eva rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands.

"Uh...Eva? What happened to your hands?" Mr Gettica looked at her hands that were looking bruised and scratched. "W-what the...yesterday they were fine after the attack." Eva looked down onto her hands.
"Attack?...You don't mean Nessa right?" Mr Gettica looked a bit uneasy.
"Uh yes, Nessa attacked me and hit my hands, why?" Eva lifted an eyebrow as she saw Mr Gettica grabbing her hands, inspecting them.
"Nessa's magic isn't what it looks like, it's not just lightning, it's some sort of paralyzing magic that just happens to have an appearance just like lightning.
"So what do we do? Do I need treatment?" Said Eva.
"No it's not that bad, but you can't cast magic for a little now so you'll have to stay at base camp for today." Mr Gettica went to get some bandages and covered Eva's hands.
"I can come Mr, I can still cast magic, that's how I defeated Nessa, I can use my whole body if I wanted to." Eva went to grab her bag, flinging it over her shoulder.
"Really? Well that's impressive, alright, you can go, but I'll keep an eye on you."

Eva walked towards Terral who was still sitting on the rock, Eva creeped behind him and pokes his side. "Boo!" Terral wasn't even moving at all, he looked over his shoulder at Eva, his eyes were looking angerily. "Whats wrong Terral? Slept as bad as I did?" Eva went to sit near Terral as he sighed. "I can't use magic...the collision with Nessa blocked my magic somehow." He went putting his head between his hands, he wasn't visibly hurt anywhere like Eva.
"W-what!? Are you certain?" Eva took Terrals hands, looking at them, they weren't looking hurt at all. "But you could use magic after the collision, what happened?"
"Yes...quite, I have to go tell Gettica, I think I have to drop out, because a wizard without magic is just a man. And I think it's just the aftermath of the collision." He went to stand up, hiding his hands inside his pockets.
"No wait! Maybe I can help, you've told me my magic is supportive and I've also read I can alternate magic particles for like healing." Eva looking up at Terral who had closed his eyes, shaking his head. "I don't think that's going to work, Tyrin already told me even the priest at school couldn't purify this. A partial paralysis like yours could easily be healed, but a full body paralysis that blocks any magic at all is unhealable."
"Let me at least try Terral, come on." Eva pulled Terral's robe a little as she looked at him. "Please? Maybe I can help you a little bit."
"No, you don't understand, it's over for me, I should never have dared to collide with Nessa." Terral kicked a tiny rock, his voice turned a little sad as he was saying that.
"I think if you hadn't done that it would've ended far worse for us, now let me try at least okay?"
"Well, fine, if you insist." Terral sat down, sighing.
"You would have to hold my feet though, since I can't cast magic with my hands now." Eva smiled.
"Wait what!? No way I am going to touch your smelly feet Eva." Terral stood up, putting his hands back into his pockets, letting out a small grin.
"Well geez, I just washed them." Eva pouted and closed her eyes. "Now sit down and let me try." Terral sat down, watching Eva as small sparks of light were erupting from her. She began focusing her energy. Some sparks made their way to Terral, covering his body when the time ticked away. "I..I think it's working Eva, I can feel energy pulsating through me."
A few small rocks near the couple started to tremble, Eva's body was lightly shining.
"Eva..." stuttered Terral.
"I..I can feel the magic flowing through me again."
Eva nodded and weakly smiled at Terral before she dropped herself on the ground, she fainted.
"Eva! Oh why did I already assume this was going to happen." Terral took her in his arms and walked down to the camp. Mr Gettica was nowhere to be seen but the Mythra twins and Drake were still there, waiting for Terral and Eva.

"Well then...you finally won her heart for you Terral? You smooth rock." Grinned Drake.
"Stop being such a fool Drake, can't you see she passed out?" Terral immediately carried her to her tent, laying her down on her bed.
"Why exactly did she pass out Terral?" said Brass.
"Well, after that incident yesterday I was magically paralyzed." Terral looked at Eva and smiled. "Eva tried curing it for me and well, she succeed. Though it must've taken all her energy to do so."
"Wait so...what you're saying is that Eva can cure a full body magical paralysis? That's insane." Said Drake.
"She definitely can..." Said Mr Gettica that walked in. "I saw her do it, and I'm thinking about sending her back to the college."
"Why exactly is that Mr Gettica?" Terral frowned.
"It's safer and she needs a good rest, I've seen it before. What she did was a Magic Partical Transfer. It's dangerous and she will be out for a few days." Mr Gettica looked at Eva who was laying there unconsiously.
"And what about the trip then? Do we have to continue with the 4 of us?" Said Brass.
"Yes, I'll take her back to the college and be in the camp again at dusk, Drake I need you to summon a Shroudrider for me." Gettica then stepped out of the tent together with Drake.
"Eva you fool..." Mumbled Terral.
"She didn't know what she was doing I think." Said Brass as she laid a hand on his shoulder.
"As hurting this is, we should go team. Eva surely wouldn't mind, she didn't really want to go in the first place." Said Tyrin.
"Again...you're right...why is it that if you finally open your mouth that it's always the truth that comes out little brother?" Said Brass when she gave him a little punch. Tyrin smiled as he walked out the tent, together with Brass.

Terral sighed as he stood up, picking Eva up. "You're such a fool, I just hope nothing will happen when I'm not there, I will feel responsible Eva. Not only because I'm your guardian, but also your friend." Terral left the tent as he saw that Drake had already summoned a Shroudwalker. A Shroudrider is a horse-like creature with a purple/black fur and green eyes. There are alot of "riders", but a Shroudrider is especially for travelling undetected.

"Alright you bunch, have a good trip in the woods and I'll see you all at dusk." Said Mr Gettica as he got up on the Rider while Terral laid Eva on the back of it.
Mr Gettica thus took off for the college, the group immediately rushed down into the woods, Terral slowly followed after them throwing one last look in the direction of Eva.
