Race is Black

Race is Black

A Poem by QuantumPlateShone

Race is Black

Your words elicit pain

I cry but you don’t comfort me

What is there to gain?

Rooted anger springs

Is it your hate you hold

Or what culture brings?

You betray me

You claim words of peace in public

Yet mock with friends. I see

You burn inside and out

Eyes gleaming with destruction

“Those are our homes!” we shout

You lock up our freedom

Still we must obey your power

We demand a taste. Come!
