cuppa

cuppa

A Poem by annie lee
"

trying to outwit the future

"

cuppa

tea leaves in a cup:

what do they tell you?

how your day will unfold,

like the petals of a lovely bloom,

or like the sinister black cape of the villain?

who you are, what you have been,

who you will be?

are the tidings in the cup

like the tidings on the news

or your horoscope on the funny paper page?

have you dialed 1-800-PSYCHIC?

did the psychic tell you all about yourself?

were you amazed?

were you stunned?

did you willingly pay your $59.95,

chanting out those Visa numbers like a song?

when it was all over and the room was still,

did you know more than you knew

from the tea leaves in a cup?

or just all you already knew

before you sipped of cup of tea?

You know, I have always wanted to visit a psychic. I have a friend who does tarot. I haven't let her do a reading for me. I don't know why, but I think I am afraid of what she might see! Interesting piece. Angi~
