moon

moon

A Poem by annie lee
"

On the drive home one night, the moon inspired this.

"

lopsided moon, misshapen moon

hanging fat and yellow

low in the night sky

pock-marked moon, scar-faced moon

spilling soft pale light on the distant mountaintops

your light is only reflection

of the blazing sun now sunk

below the horizon

but how luminous a mirror

for this lovely fragile earth
