Tumbleweed Tears

Tumbleweed Tears

A Poem by Clayton Bardwell
"

An old poem I thought to add to this new beginning.

"

I hear your sweet voice when I walk amongst the Pinion’s.

I turn to look and you’re not there.  How cruel are these pines that bind me?

Is it the wind or the wanting that turns my weary head?

Oh, this dreaded desert that once was my heart, now a wasteland without you to nourish it.

Can it beat without a reason?

Dare the sun shine without you here to bask in its’ brilliance?

Will the stars have a reason to appear without your smile to comfort them?

I smell your hair with every breath I take,

Or is it the sage that grows behind our cabin,

Those 4 walls that once held our love, and

Now confines me to this dreary place?

I tie these words to the tumbleweed, and

Cast it adrift on shifting sands

Carried by the wind in search of your heart.

I'm so glad Clayton, you posted this nice old poem of yours.

I feel the love, the pain, of a lost love, in this one, but there is rememberance.
And you live in the now, (or the narrator, or persona). That's through the little things in life
we so appreciate... such as the sun. A heart wrenching write, full of feeling, and romance my friend, I enjoyed reading your quill tonight.

Thank you so much for being you, and sharing this.

Wow, incredibly sad to read these words. The depth of gloom lingers in your words with each stanza. To miss someone so much is agonizing and you've put into words the emptiness that accompanies such emotions. Great lines throughout. Great job here Clayton.

This was so beautifully poignant. It's so sad when love is gone and heaven loses its shine. I am touched by the imagery of loss in this piece:

I tie these words to the tumbleweed, and
Cast it adrift on shifting sands
Carried by the wind in search of your heart.

Hello sweetbind,

It's nice to meet you and read your lovely words.
Wow. This is beautiful. The emotions. The way you conveyed the emotion of longing through lovely images. Questioning things. All very well written.

What a beautiful image to end with:

"I tie these words to the tumbleweed, and
Cast it adrift on shifting sands
Carried by the wind in search of your heart."

What a pleasureful honor it is to have you visit here. Thank you.
I understand only too well the ache of love that has come to its end. The tumbleweed is a perfect metaphor to describe this loneliness. The beat of your lonely heart echoed between the lines.
