I realize I write really nice poems when I'm depressed, but they're all so... sad.

Look around,

Can you guess

Who are your real friends?

Look around,

Look at those eyes

Truth or lie?

Look around,

You're surrounded

By lies

"You're important.

You're not worthless."

Deep inside, they

Don't mean it.

Look around,

Who can you trust?

No one else

But yourself

Look around,

Filled with lies

Foolish lies

Lies! Lies! Lies!

Inspiration:
You know that feeling you get when people lie in your face, and you know that they are lying.
You know that feeling when you put in too much effort in something, trying to make everything work . . . but no one even appreciates it? Everything you did is disregarded. It sucks.

I have always been surrounded with dishonesty, and sometimes I feel I can't even trust myself because I feel like all the lies have made it difficult to know what's real and what's not; even my own thoughts. Great poem. Simple, passionate expression.

Oh gosh, I completely understand! Great and straight to the point, I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I were just having a topic similar to this... it's a a scary thought, to think that someone you really care about it simply lying to you and you might not even know it.
