Interview with a homeless

"
(notes)
In your mind, you would help that person on the street
In your mind, you would want to take that person to heaven with you

In reality, youre afraid his curse might infect you and you will keep on driving and will look the other way, guaranteed.

What is wrong, I asked

there is nothing wrong, He answered

(Then he said)

Is it normal to feel like I am the most important person in the world and at the same time I have nothing but my spirit

and I still think I am going to be a millionare
and I still think I am going to heaven

All I need is some idiot b******s to try to stop me and I will push them to hell.

This is a great piece of work. I really love the idea and structure. Also it reinforces the never ending issue of the poor and homeless all around us everyday day, and how many of us would actually stop and help?

It is sad to see some one homeless. I feel that most of the time it is not their fault they are homeless. But I know of some one who has chosen to be homeless. He has money in the bank and gets deposits monthly, but he is so afraid of the Government that he wont even touch it. But not all the homeless are like him. I wish I had an answer to the problem but I don't. This is a very good poem and you bring up a very valid point.

"fbi" ? You are welcome. I don't really talk with the homeless, maybe I should.
Wow! It's chilling good. Reality sucks and sometimes reality is a bust

This is just the fact, truth in itself. Well done.

We can learn from the homeless. Many reasons to be homeless. More than half are old soldiers who has lost their way. I like the statements in the poem. I believe when you find the place where home, family and money mean nothing. You will accept nothing. I enjoyed the interview. Thank you for sharing the story. It was outstanding

This is true. Cynicism in society makes it difficult to even want to help people sometimes.
It's strange, though. There's a part of your heart that wishes to uplift those around you... and there's a part of your heart that's afraid of the risk that might take. How much does fear stop us from helping others, I wonder? Fear that they'll take advantage, fear that your kindness means you've dropped your guard.
Thought-provoking.

Wow - that is amazingly true. How many times do people pass someone by when they can help? You have inspired me to be more attentive to what's going on around me
