Acerbus

A Poem by Acerbus

Paralyzing thoughts as blurry eyes settle still

fixated on the surface

Stretched arms tipped with drowning hands

clutching at the intangible waves as

each crash collapses my senses

Familiar is the knife

though my strife is numb to it

The mind a slaughter house for the attempted smile

Too weak to seal broken seems that seep slow my anguish

Time still yet ever changing

Strangely though remains that spark

lonely only death to hold

for the further filled my life with dark

homely does my comfort grow
