Chess

Chess

A Poem by Adam
"

metaphorical

"

Your move, yet it is unexpected,

you thought you would have failed.

Why have you not been rejected?

Could this truly be success.

Now that it comes to it you lock up;

it isn't as easy as in the car before.

You wonder what she's thinking

and you feel like you've been implored.

Foreign fields, desparate anxiety,

and you do not know what to say.

Small talk that is lacking in variety

is all you can do to work your charm.

Its too late, you lost your shot,

and all that's left is frustration.

Why didn't you push things further?

You wasted love through anticipation.
