Mother Earth's Day

Mother Earth's Day

A Poem by Ahmad Cox

Mother Earth's Day
by Ahmad Cox
Ebony eyes as wise as the ages.
Peircing through history and time
Hair as green as the deepest grove
Your roots are deep in the earth
Your womb is filled with the seeds of life
Giving the spark to all of us
You give us the air that we may breath
You give us water that overflows.
Your riches could fill the largest coffers and yet there is still so much more
How beautiful you are and yet we seldom stop to thank, and to look, and to admire, and to listen, and be amazed.
Be astonished
Be astounded by the simple fact that life exists, and that without our beautiful mother none of it would be possible
So the next time you feel lost and weary, and feel like you have a lot on your shoulders, just think about the weight of the world our mother has to carry
Know that if you are willing to allow her, she will provide.
Our mother loves all of her creations
She is just waiting for your acknowledgement.
No matter who you might be, know that you are wrapped in her grace and in her love and that you are never alone
You are a child of earth
And this is your home

Beautiful! This flows with wonder and grace. So many take her for granted.,Where would we be without her? We wouldn't.
