Love's True Kiss

Love's True Kiss

A Poem by Allyson Wolfe

Racing through the trees,

her heart beats faster

with the eminent danger close behind her.

An ancient thrill courses through her veins.

Chasing love's persona

praying to see his lovely fast.

She can not run faster,

but is this something which she can attain?

She stumbles slightly into his midst

and tries to gaze upon him,

holding a dim lit candle in the room of darkness

the light shows a cupid's bow along full lips.

As the fair woman gazes upon a face fairer yet,

he glows gold and awakes

opening lids to reveal smokdering brown eyes.

Molton chocolate come alive.

Such a fair face she saw,

but what was that?

He twitched in anger,

a face fair no longer.

To see loves true nature

is to understand the pain.

Faces contorted in anger

and shame is the end result

of a better time they may have had once.

Twas the realization of Psyche.

Author's Note

Allyson Wolfe
Heavy with the love lately. I hate it, but a writer can't choose the inspiration they have.
