Amore Come Rose Selvatiche

Amore Come Rose Selvatiche

A Poem by Allyson Wolfe
"

A Love Like Wild Roses..

"
A love like wild roses,
wrap around my heart.
Thorns rip through flesh so sweet;
in love, we can only fall so deep.

Blushing violent red,
wild roses drip from every vein.
Pinpricks of blood like petals;
a love so strong it hurts us to resist.

A love like wild roses,
oh it grew so fast at first.
All flowers wilt and die however;
our love can't last forever.

Wilting flowers petals do drop,
litter the bottom of my heart.
Thorns once painful are now but dust.
A love we once thought immortal
is now anything but.
Oh my love,
with our love like wild roses.
Where has it gone?
Our amore come rose selvatiche.

A pretty good description of the process
of romantic love, beauty, desire and the
suffering as we begin to feel the thorns.
The Italian is most romantic and this is probably
more romantic than most.

Beautiful! Love can be such a wonderful thing, but it can also bring us so much pain. I love how you made the title Italian :D and I love how you use the wild roses repeatedly throughout the poem. Excellent write :)
