Parking Lot Song

Parking Lot Song

A Poem by Amanda Marie
"

Sometimes...when I go outside to grab carts...I totally sing to myself the entire time

"

I don’t want to talk about it

And I don’t want to think about it

Just keep filling the air

With your words

Until the pain evaporates

I don’t want to think about it

But then I go and dream about it

Just hold me in your embrace

Fill the space

’Til the pain just falls away

I get so, disappointed

With all the things

That I can’t do

If I could flip a switch and gain another inch

And fall in love with you

The way you need me to

I can’t, believe you

When you tell me it will be ok

Its just a clever little lie, that helps you get by

And make it to the end of the day

But it all just stays the same

I don’t want to dream about it

I just want to sing about it

Tell a short story long

Melancholy song

'Cause the pain is here to stay
