![]() Lost on PurposeA Poem by Amanda Marie![]() When a drug-addict tries to reconnect with you...![]()
I came over to see you, but you're already too far in.
Pulling glass out of your teeth, and pushing it into your skin. Maybe I should have called first, but you don't like those lines. When you flirt in slurs and shadows it reminds me of the time. You gave up, You just laid down and died. I picked you up, And I kept you alive. I carried you home, And laid you on your side. So f**k you if you ever say That I didn't try. I won't wait for you to get sober, you don't have to make the drive. But maybe call you mother and let her know you're alive. Yeah, of course they miss you, and want you to come home. They all think you're lost but I know you're destined to roam. You gave up, You just laid down and died. I picked you up, And I kept you alive. I carried you home, And laid you on your side. So f**k you if you ever say That I didn't try. Wasn't sure if I'd recover when you chose it over me. Don't you possess the muscle that connects your arteries? If that's the only thing that helps, maybe your better off alone. You're out there swimming in the darkness, but don't you bring that s**t home. Wasn't sure if they'd recover when you chose it over your family. Don't you possess the muscle that connects your arteries? If that's how you treat people, then you're better off alone. Your out there finding the wilderness, or maybe you found your new home. You gave up, You just laid down and died. I picked you up, And I kept you alive. I carried you home, And laid you on your side. So f**k you if you ever say That I didn't try. © 2016 Amanda Marie |
