Winter Blanch

Winter Blanch

A Poem by Amduscia

Bitter Winters white...

Ashen's the plains, before My sight...

Upon this spiteful, frozen night...

The forest trees, suffer their blight...

Animals, whitened in fright, without delight...

None spared by Winters light...

Not even the white Kites, that knight their way, through the skies height...

Upon all, this Blizzard does ignite, forthright, to invite, the Polar rite...

Chills and shivers, it does excite...

Winds upon the gravestones do write...

And overwrite...

Snowflakes and grey clouds unite...

Though, a certain beauty She does indite...

Winters presence, I wish to uninvite...

Without any intention to overexcite...

Though all will soon be non-white...

I fear...

For in seasons that must come to pass, Winter and I, must needs reunite...
