Downfall

Downfall

A Poem by A. Amos
"

Fall and rise are part of life, few give up yet some learn and stand tall...

"

Downfall

All dream-destinies for a better tomorrow

Turn ideas into reality, huge loans they borrow

Troubles knock everyone’s door, you’re not alone

Look around, feel unheard cries; World…full of sorrow

When success comes and hits life
everyone is utterly on different skies
even those whom we never knew, are close
Time seems frozen, life turns as a beautiful red rose

Life can throw you in smoldering hell
all the doors clogged, no path left to dwell
Sitting petrified, bitter memories with prosaic soul
world tarnished, money vanished, no one to propel

Deep, dark thoughts running in our minds
Sometimes find a way to abolish your soul
To the misery stuck on you, nothing left for fight
Was this the reason we touched opulent heights

Everyone hates, blame, curses, enjoy abusing you
Even your own self in its own way, is annoyed too
Magic of life is going back in time, watching movies
Often sad, some fun and few packed with glories

How can the world disregard, wondrous histories we made

myriad lives we touched, flaming sun we provided shades
We only thought to make the world better place
Now they look at us with abhorrence, our hard work has fade

Yesterday squandering millions, today not a single penny
damn felt blessed with her presence, first one left was Jenny
Tensions start pummeling brain, merely luxury left was smoking

Lifestyle revolutionized so swiftly, strange mystery left provoking

99% of life is painted with poignant tales
1% of life brings us magic of feeling
ecstatic
consider failure God’s wish, accept without malice
Downfall an eradicator, its life's we’ve to gracefully face

It’s not only you, history is full of characters

One day they were king, next in vagrant’s attire

Treasures are left where they belong

All they took with them was their dirty desires

Destiny is not a fickle thing... What is weak is man's ability to understand it. We can lose ourselves, stepping backwards into the rapid-moving river of fate, and be lashed by emotions on the way, and then drown in circumstances beyond our control. But despite this, there's value in human determination. You've touched on many things in this poem, friend, but these themes are what stood out for me. Keep writing.

I never understand why some strive so hard for material things when they can't take it with them when they die ! I guess many do it for status so that others might envy them - sad. It's like the poem says, "One day they were king, next in vagrant’s attire". I liked reading this one very much :)

Thank you Penny...
My goodness A. Amos..
~~ There is a lot of 'food for thought' as the saying goes... Well thought out issues that you bring to light, leaves us to ponder...
~~ I'm a bit confused on the rating system, so let me know it I did it wrong by putting a percent in the rating box...

You write much better and thank you my friend
A. Amos, I hope this was written about your enemies and not you. However, the latter seem true. Loss, going from riches to rags, taken, abused? Surely, your enemies! And if so, very artfully captured. I particularly loved the contrast of success having come and yes, "even those whom we never knew, are close...." And then the abrupt "Life can throw you in smoldering hell..." But the most poignant lines for me were "Yesterday squandering millions, today not a single penny / damn felt blessed with her presence, first one left was Jenny..." Really makes it a personal piece; albeit, I wish it were your enemies.

..."Sitting petrified, bitter memories with prosaic soul"...What a great line! This is a wonderful write. :) I like your style. Not sure what the rating thing is ...is it like a scale of 1-100 100 being the better? I hate score cards cuz poetry is always appreciated and respected for what it is. :)
