Drown

Drown

A Poem by Riley Mistwood

Cold hands grab me from bellow

pulling, clawing, tearing at my soul.

Air escapes my lungs

upon my chest a thousand tons

I kick and writhe to reach the light

but in the end a loosing fight.

I sink now to the depths below

watching as the darkness grows

My body grows still

and in the dark

the monsters tear apart my heart

This is dark and full of despair. This is very good and reflects the most popular and most heard of nightmare, drowning. I, myself, have never had this nightmare, but it's the nightmare of book characters, movie characters, and regular people. Nice work, in a gloomy way.

Gahh! ...a bad dream, I hope. These machinations of the "heart" are worrisome, are they not? Still, in the light of day there is a rough texture that begs the workman revisit a few spots before the final coat of lacquer is applied.
