As We Saw

As We Saw

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

We saw a broken egg-shell,
lying vacant on a gray , hot , paved road.
Some screamed out - ' Wastage!' ;
Some murmured - 'Purpose served !' .

Some said , " Let's dig a bit deeper ,
Let's think a bit more  !"
Some shunned,
saying ," Eh! Nasty gore! " .
I said ," Its all about 'Time' "  !!

We all see things differently in life....is it garbage? Is it something useful, something beautiful? It's all about perception, isn't it? As far as the last line of your poem goes, indeed, EVERYTHING leads back to time. Much to ponder here, Anand! Lydi**

one man's garbage is another man's useful philosophy...we all see life from different perspectives...but there is usefulness in almost anything...

No matter how differently we see things, time is of the essence. Well done, Anand, I look forward to reading more of your work.

You are quite welcome, and I sure will read some of your older work, looking forward to it :)
It took me awhile to digest this one. All is indeed relative in time in space. Quite the write, Anand.

Everyones perception can differ if just a little bit. I like the way your mind works Anand. You are coaxing mine to work as well with this thought provoking little play on words. Wonderful writing my friend.

thank you Marion. Seeing you after a long time :)
And in due time we shall understand the why and how of a situation as you present in your example of the broken egg-shell. One might view an answer received as the divine, another might perceive it as a hoax, and another might say, we must evaluate, and post the results so we may discern the answers, and then test some more as follow-up. Another might declare the it as a horredenous situation with no possible solution. It is "as we see" it!
An interesting situation to ponder is found in your words!

thanks a lot BP for reading the piece :)
Your poems are almost the definition of "dreaming room," Anand. The reader is forced into co-creating your poetry by all the white spaces you leave between your lines. I don't think there's a right or a wrong way to put this puzzle together. It all depends upon your perspective on life and the time you happened to spot that egg. If you just dropped it by accident on the pavement, it's "Wastage," if you are cooking it, on hot pavement, it's "Purpose served !" If you just ran across it by accident and have no idea why it's there, it's "let's think a bit more!, "If you don't have the time to think, it's "Eh, Nasty gore!" And of course if it's you who wrote the poem, and you buy my take on it, "It's all about 'Time'"!! Another great one from the master of writing a poem to be dreamt on.
