Sometimes Chocolate cake is less confusing than Devil's Food . I mean it. Just go shred some Macadamia nuts, mix in some Dove dark chocolate bits, Hershey's Cocoa, some Land o'Lakes butter, sweet cream milk, Pillsbury's Best, a touch of Crisco, a couple of farmer's market fresh eggs, a dash of real vanilla (go figure?). Hand stir with a FORK - no mixer bull - for a coupla minutes. Pour into a Bundt pan and bake for 47 minutes... my oven doesn't do 45.
When its done - A lil powdered sugar mixed with butter... glaze the top. And voila` - sit there and listen to all those voices inside telling you "NO!...NO!... " as you slowly and with full malice of forethought chew your way through a SLAB of "Goodness" and afterward stare with longing at that lil ice-chiped full glass of milk awaiting your pleasure.
See - its so not confusing at all when you take life that way...
Imagine that, I swear I smelled the chocolate..what a delightful, delicious, indulgent slice of life you just served up...how did you know? Just what I needed, thank you for this.
It may not be as politically correct , or simple as apple pie .. but go ahead .. indulge yourself .. you know you want it .. who will know .. gawd that iced-milk is so good after ..
Sounds very good, indeed. And of course, you must use vanilla to get a good chocolate cake. I know, I know... doesn't seem right, does it? I would indulge... but you know I will simply wish you "good eating," kind, gentle chef of words and cake.

:) thats awesome. And I dont like Matt Smith. Pound is okay but I still love David Tannent.
I daren't think too long what the Real Vanilla might be. I believe Picasso also had a penchant for including some unusual ingredients in his work.
One would have to be a terrible grump not to be charmed by this piece. It's just saying Be happy, forget your worries, bake your own cookies (biscuits) take pleasure in life...All right for some, I suppose. But I for one would be out of a job.

After all, we are not putting out recipes, only metaphors, which can have lots of meanings...I blame myself. I've read a lot of saucy postings in the last couple of days - one I recall about a dresser and the other about something happening in a car. I wonder if it has anything to do with Sandy the storm? During the Second World War, the birth rate in this country shot up because of all the incipient danger. I wonder if that storm of yours has had a similar effect on the poetic imagination. Batten down the hatches, yes. But what are they doing in the bunkers? just a thought.

The birth rates seem to always go up in the survivors' countries. Part of the "fun" of being here IS the interaction between us. We are real people afterall - not just a not-to-be-known imprint below the title of a book that is for sale at the local bookseller stall. We have our own sense of everything and anything and at least THIS is a place where we CAN interact as people.

Publishing in a forum such as this is different to magazine or book publishing because of, as you say, the interaction. Another dimension of course is the fact that we are writing, not speaking, to each other, which is a boom for writers as this is their mode of expression.
