"Rachmaninoff..."

"Rachmaninoff..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Sigh

"

“Rachmaninoff…”

Sigh,

every damn time I pause with "you"

- thoughts begin to flow...

They have their own consciousness

and validity -

direction and scents,

breadth and depth,

pressure of existence

and even ...

a touch of understanding.

I HEAR you

and don't ...just...react to

a now,

to risen "memories",

to un-or-mind-fulfilled desires,

to wishes for a Love

or sexuality-fueled intensities...

I HEAR you -

and "thoughts" flow

and continue - on their own -

to wonder and wander

to pause, to grow,

to question AND view,

expand and breathe,

to peer into

...the person I am,

and existence as I feel it.

Seems you give my soul a smile huh...

just being you -

and me - just being me.

...that IS how life ...happens.

Sigh

It happens in this life that we encounter many, and connect with a few. I can never find something that trips me up in your thoughts.:)

Music that grants one's soul a smile strikes me as being a decided blessing and genuine service--as is this lovely piece, by the way.
Gratifying read!

The best lyrics in the world of music are those composed by real poets, rather than those manufactured by hit machines just churning out words to fit. They feel, as do the musicians themselves.

I am first and foremost an enjoyer of lyrics, the melody is an accompaniment for me, the completion to what is already a work of high artistry.

I love the reflective tone in your poems, and it's really nice to touch base again after such a time.

Beccy.

I may be off but
this seems the kinship of words and music
listening
can ground us or launch us far from our present
or past.It draws us all without having to understand what we're supposed to feel, just that we're supposed to.
we all have that song or piece...that comes on the radio and acts like an emotional time machine

Aaah! poems that make us think. Reviewing others it's so difficult for me. I've found so few that are poetry as I learned or read growing up. I have a few people on this site that To me, say great poetry! Others I'm to afraid to offend. You scream total poetry to me. I like your words, I like your form and I like your subjects. I really like this one.

you are the composer, Chris...
you hit the right notes....life just happens...and if we have someone close to share those "happenings"
it is a big sigh.
