"It Became Tomorrow..."

"It Became Tomorrow..."

A Poem by Chris
"

It does that sometime - ya know?

"

“It Became Tomorrow…”

Good morning beautiful…

seems the wee early mornings mark our

…transitions…

into the persons we become.

Became.

Are…

For some - it's called stress -

stress …over… day-to-day;

over life's sway;

over self-defined singularities;

over all the ouchies faced, held in,

let out, dealt and undealt;

our own “apneas” -

that “bit-of-gravy”, life’s “broth”,

midnought tremors, minds’ whispers,

our own chilled whimpers…

wish-full echoes… empty arms…

And ya know - for some its tears -

never endings…

fears - the shakes that haunt,

the ‘MARES -

the sights, the sounds we …live… with

survive within,

as the unending echoes surround

around and ‘round and ‘round…

And yet -

Some …watch as sunrise paints our lives.

Watch as coffee mysts rise and grow

and grow into the transparencies of our worlds.

Sometimes we wander,

wander our night’s days

looking …pausing… looking,

searching

‘til pausing with yet another ghostlet -

anothers’ understanding

-      of a what

-      of a who

-      a HOW

continuing

has become to be.

Remembering who we thought we were

touching on our self’s dreams

esteems… wishing to hope again…

dream …again,

knowing nothing is ever as simple -

or free -

or …free

nothing.

Some times it’s a wonder -

that we emotionally reach

CAN EVEN emotionally reach …out

(and in)

-      that we believe

-      that we hope

-      that the whispers fill us with

heat and heart

-      that we touch and ARE touched …again.

-      that we ARE our SELVES …again.

-      That we CAN ever BE …again.

…and then it becomes

…tomorrow… again.

“Good morning Beautiful…”

Good use of rhythm and rhyme . I enjoyed the internal rhyme especially. Love the lily it gave when reading. Fine work.

Thoughts and awareness matter...
The morning seems to wipe away a few yesterday's worries. The remnants can be dealt with. Hope, thankfully, always seems to creep back in. Great--and unique--use of diction here, Chris. My compliments.

Sharing awakening... and a smile AND the KNOWING is still within the eyes...
My nightstand has two drawers
top drawer, meds and comforts
bottom drawer, a few photos..
I haven't opened that drawer in a while
but I know what's in there just the same
I sleep, I wake, I know, I smile.
I go about my day, as usual
memories go through me
as if they know I need them
and I do need..them
Love always finds a way
and hurt is even more resourceful
it changes us, what we were,
and wanted to continue to be
by infusing grains of salt
to ever open wounds .
Despite all this we somehow come to
appreciate
being able to reach, smile, breathe
listen, tell , share
be
inside another day..

Forgive my blathering heart..

You always touch my soul Chris
because you know ..

When I read this poem the first time, the use of punctuation struck me as genius and unique. I love the line "…transitions…" and the use of repetition for "as the unending echoes surround / around and ‘round and ‘round…". The next time I read it, I loved the syntax choices, especially in stanzas 2 and 6. Then I thought to myself, "This poem is like a cross of E. E. Cummings and...Chris!" Brilliantly worded, sir.

I hope with every return you find pausing brings thoughts and sometimes a smile.
Youre right; whatever is today will become a tomorrow. A time to change and hope. A quote i always enjoyed "im gonna change you like a remix, then ill raise you like the phoenix" by fall out boy is kinda like life i suppose. This was certainly enjoyed. Nice work! :D

Beginning a day with "someone" near to talk with and share the moment ...matters.

True true!
Every day offers the chance to be a new day... a new brand new beginning. Yesterday is over and can't be changed, so why do so many suffer the angst of all the What ifs? It is simple really, let yesterday go, embrace today, and wait for tomorrow.

Wonderful poem Chris, a beauty of the day ahead, unfolds and can give us so much. Sadly as humans, we ponder and spend more time thinking of the past and yesterday. Than simply enjoying today for what it is.

Merry Christmas Chris, Hope you had a lovely day. hugs. Dawn.
"Some How it Gets to be Tomorrow" was the title of a 60's TV episode. You ask such great contemplative questions here Chris, and provide such an intimate inner tone. And one of my favorite sayings "it's not one thing, it's ALL the things." Such is living. Day to day, life to life, some never feel the depths you describe, pity. I like reading your work as it allows me pause to acknowledge those thoughts and feelings so vital to living. Thanks my friend.
