"A Fallen Woman..."

"A Fallen Woman..."

"A Fallen Woman..."

How does a gentle man make love with a woman
when his touch elicits a hurt;
when his care brings tears;
When if his eyes find her and fill
- she looks away;
When even "Hi..."
leaves a sad taste of goodbye.

Leaning here... golden-hued leaves above
and untold rainbows all about -
crackling under passers-by's feet
and children's rolling bodies,
I can hear others' dreams -
making, being found, lost... broken
- and wonder if I just heard myself
thinking - all along.

Do leaves dream as they lie down to sleep
and pray for souls to be softly kept?
Does the rain wash the tears
from lonely eyes til free to fall
and soften the earth upon which we fell?

Beneath the leaves is a living loam
to softly crumble twixt fingers moving
in mindless flow as the heart whispers
and eyes don't see and hands just grasp
at unrealities...

Where does a gentle man
...go...

Other than into his own soul...everywhere, unknown and known...a gentle man...can go anywhere...for his soul guides him well...full circle...

This is truly wonderful xx

Do leaves dream as they lie down to sleep
and pray for souls to be softly kept?
Does the rain wash the tears
from lonely eyes til free to fall
and soften the earth upon which we fell?
This was a masterful poem it was a glimpse of wonderful musings and oh they were so beautiful! The third stanza was my favorite it was melodic and sung sweetly. I enjoyed this very much.

a tear in single mirrored image
falls from many eyes
as the earth turns to the rhythm
lonely souls.... sigh......

If I had to pick my favorite from this poem it would be hard because as a whole it is beautiful, softly spoken. But I would choose the above from the second stanza.
I love the way you think, your thoughts. You always seem to soothe the readers soul. Such a lovely write Chris. Very touching.

I love these lines:Do leaves dream as they lie down to sleep
and pray for souls to be softly kept?
Does the rain wash the tears
from lonely eyes til free to fall
and soften the earth upon which we fell?

Perceptive is as perceptive does...

The thoughts. To be able to think, reason, know. Only time and living mold the answers. A long process we often are impatient with, we often don't see evolving in other's. To be gentle against a raging storm is the only victorious response for the vanguard.
Well thought.

A gentle man not quite alone with his thoughts .. Sometimes tears do not soften that ground .. we do hear ourselves in others dreams .. A touch can rekindle pleasure and pain .. Tread softly on all hearts, young or seasoned .. Have faith in joy .. .

Touching, as always Chris .. Jazz

So deeply touched. your words reach out like tentacles twisting about my soul. Such wisdom in words, thoughs of an intricate mind.
